Description

This song was originally recorded by singer/songwriter Noel Paul Stookey (who was a member of Peter, Paul and Mary) in the 1960's and is still a popular selection for weddings today.  The lyrics are paramount to this song, so I chose to arrange it as accompaniment rather than an instrumental piece.

- Violin 1 carries the melody line but uses held notes instead of the vocal rhythm.  This allows for rhythmic interpretation by the vocalist.
- Viola has 8th note broken chords to simulate original guitar part.
- Violin 2 and Cello fill in the rest of the chord and bass line.
